The Mission of El Badr Association
The El Badr Association in Blida is dedicated to supporting cancer patients and their families. Its mission is built on three pillars: patient support, cancer prevention, and social solidarity.
The association provides medical, psychological, and social assistance while also developing major projects to improve cancer care across Algeria.
The History of El Badr
Founded in 2006 by citizens and doctors in Blida, the association quickly received national approval in 2008, allowing it to extend its activities across Algeria.
In 2015, El-Badr inaugurated Dar El Ihssane, a free accommodation center for patients coming from distant regions for treatment at the Frantz-Fanon University Hospital. Today, the association is working on an ambitious project: the creation of a pediatric oncology center near the same hospital, offering specialized care for children with cancer.
Key Actions and Services
El-Badr works on several levels to meet the needs of patients:
- Medical support: covering diagnostic tests, examinations, and treatments.
- Psychological support: helping patients and families cope emotionally.
- Social assistance: monthly food baskets and special support during Ramadan.
- Prevention: awareness campaigns and early detection programs, especially for breast cancer.
- Accommodation: hosting patients and their families at Dar El Ihssane with free meals and lodging.

To raise awareness and collect funds, El-Badr organizes a variety of events:
- Relay Against Childhood Cancer: a sports and charity event uniting volunteers, families, and patients in solidarity.
- National awareness campaigns: active participation in the Arab Cancer Week and international cancer awareness initiatives.
