  • 1½ glasses of oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the warm milk, sugar, and baker’s yeast. Let it rest until the yeast activates.
  2. Add the egg, half a glass of oil, and the citrus zest. Mix well.
  3. Incorporate the flour, baking powder, and salt. Knead gently for about 5 minutes.
  4. Cover the dough and leave it to rise for 1 hour, until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough, then shape it into braids, small rolls, or hamburger-style buns.
  6. Place on a baking tray and let rest again. Brush with a mixture of egg and milk, then sprinkle sesame seeds if desired.
  7. Bake at 200 °C, first with bottom heat for 10 minutes, then with top heat for another 10 minutes, until golden.
