Mohamed Touri Theatre

Théâtre Mohamed Touri, once silenced for 15+ years, now reopens with its historic soul restored, modern comforts, acclaimed acoustics, and a legacy of national artistic pride reignited.

An iconic cultural revival? After more than 15 years of closure, the Mohamed Touri Theatre in Blida has reopened in early 2025 following an extensive restoration costing over 20 billion centimes.

Originally built before Algeria’s independence and renamed to honor Mohamed Touri (1914–1959), a legendary humorist and cultural icon, the theater now boasts modern upgrades, enhanced acoustics, advanced lighting, air conditioning, smoke extraction systems, and refined interiors, while preserving its historic charm.

Once a stage for legends like Bachtarzi, Guerouabi, and Fatiha Berber, it returns as a vibrant cultural beacon for the region.
